Ok folks, CAT (yes, it’s CAT, all capital letters) has been in and out of our respite care program. Now, she’s back and CAT needs a sponsor due to special circumstances. This pretty lady has a very sad story, but we made it happy again. You can tell by her friendly behavior that she has always been very much loved. There were many reasons she lost her homes, and her people, several times.
Unfortunately, home life for her has been unstable since the beginning. She and a kitty friend lost two homes through no fault of their own. Most recently because her owner could not take care of her any longer. It’s been a rough ride for a girl less than three years old when she arrived here for respite care. Now, she’s alone since her friend got adopted.
We soon found out why she kept getting out, getting lost, and being put out of the house. She’s a challenge 24×7. Nevertheless, this girl is not a street cat! She was in danger out there. A cat raised alone, without a colony or a mom, has no survival skills.
She’s young, she’s active, mischievous, smart, quick-moving, and a large handsome kitty with a heart on her nose. Are you a cat parent who has raised teenage cats and knows what we mean? She’s affectionate and loving too. She loves toys, as you can see in the video. On the other hand, she also makes big messes playing in the water dishes trying to wash food like a raccoon. She can be found anywhere from the highest point in the house to the lowest. Yes, that means some “accidents” too. This one is busier than a toddler and can find just as much to get into.
CAT seems to love everyone. She craves lots of interactive playtime with wand toys. Because she’s very demanding in daily care and challenging behavior, we decided to make her a long-term resident. The risk of permanent emotional damage and physical danger if she got put on the street or dumped in a shelter, due to the work involved in keeping up with her, seemed too high. CAT has blossomed and settled down a lot being in a stable environment, but she’s still more work to clean-up after than all the other cats combined.
This pretty girl is just waiting for a sponsor. More than one sponsor would be great too! She’d especially love to have a local sponsor that might visit occasionally or send a kitty toy.
This girl loves to play in water too! Just look at her. First one to fish for the automated fish in a pan of water.
