Whether you like to send cards with a pet theme to your human friends or whether you need pet ecards for a new pet or a pet loss, or a pet-themed ecard for human occasions, there’s sure to be something for you in the list. Easter, graduations, summer vacations, this is the time of year that brings lots of reasons to keep in touch or send a card. Ecards are especially nice when you forgot until it was too late to mail a paper card. They save money and time. Enjoy checking out the list of pet related and pet-themed ecards below, some are free and some require paid membership. None of the links are affiliate accounts.
Pet sympathy cards are one of the most often used ecards because we generally don’t get the sad news in time to mail a card. Unfortunately, many of the free resources I found several years ago are no longer free. If you are a feral cat advocate, consider using the free cards from Alley Cat Allies for your notes to friends. They aren’t really for special occasions, but they are nice quality and educational. They’d be especially useful for pet rescue announcements or TNR group communications.
I also want to give you some helpful resources and some fun ideas for spring and summer.
If you have lots of friends with pets and enjoy using high-quality pet themed cards for most occasions, check this website. There’s an annual fee to join, but the quality and variety is great. They also offer cards for pet businesses. http://www.sloppykisscards.com/index.php
American Greetings offers monthly, yearly, or longer memberships. They offer a 7-day free trial too. The monthly fee is less than you’d pay for one card in the store, if you like their selection and only need cards occasionally. http://www.americangreetings.com/ecards/pet
On Hallmark’s site, I only found one pet loss sympathy card. They offer memberships for low rates, but I didn’t see enough selection in the pet area to make me want to join.
Select free ecards from the menu on the left at http://www.bluemountain.com/ecards/pets While I love Blue Mountain cards, I was less than thrilled to spend 15-minutes looking for the price list for memberships. Not much is free anymore. I searched for free ecards. The selection was limited and not impressive. The pet sympathy card selection is also limited. Here’s the link to the price list http://www.bluemountain.com/help/help_A.pd?Category=My%20Account&SubCat=Becoming%20a%20Member&QuestionID=6531
Alley Cat Allies E-card Selection Send your message and help other learn about cats at the same time, enjoy the special holiday ecards. http://getinvolved.alleycat.org/site/Ecard?ecard_id=1141
In my search for free pet ecards, I found Smilebox and MyFunCards. Both require a download to my computer, which quickly sent me the other way. They may be fine, but I don’t download unknown programs or services and won’t recommend them.
123Greetings has a nice selection of free pet loss/sympathy cards. http://www.123greetings.com/pets/loss_of_pet
123Greetings also offers a cute selection of pet themed free cards. http://www.123greetings.com/pets/pets_etc/
Last but not lease, Care2 offers a selection of cards that are always free. If you don’t want a lot of new email, be careful what’s checked on all Care2 services. The idea is great and they do good work. http://www.care2.com/send/catpets7.html
